Bodywork & Car Painting in Pakenham
On a modern car, a bumper repair involves parking sensors, a radar unit and a camera as well as paint. We repair and paint in-house, then scan the car's electronics so nothing is left throwing a warning. Every job is quote-on-inspection: send photos or drop in, and we'll lock in a number before any work begins.
What we repair
- Dents and dings. Where the paint is intact, paintless dent repair (PDR) can remove small dents without repainting. [Confirm you offer PDR or remove this line.]
- Scratches and scuffs: from light polishing to full panel repaint
- Bumper repairs. Cracks, tears and mounting tab damage can often be repaired, not replaced.
- Panel repairs and replacement: doors, guards, bonnets, boots
- Rust and corrosion repair
- Collision repairs, minor to major
- Respraying: single panels, multiple panels or full resprays
- Headlight, grille and trim repairs
Paint that matches
Colour matching starts with the paint code, usually found on a compliance plate or door jamb sticker, but it doesn't end there. Paint fades and weathers, so we blend new paint into adjacent panels so the repair doesn't show in direct sun.
Pearl, metallic and tri-coat colours (common on white pearl and premium finishes) take more skill, and we'll tell you up front if your colour needs extra work.
After the repair
- Panel gaps and alignment checked
- Full-system fault scan to catch any stored codes from sensors disturbed in the collision
- Sensor and camera checks on bumper-mounted parking sensors, blind-spot monitors and radar units [confirm which calibrations you perform in-house and which are sublet]
- Wheel alignment check if the impact involved a wheel or suspension
Aluminium and special panels
Some vehicles, including a number of premium European and 4x4 models, use aluminium panels or high-strength steel that can't be repaired with standard methods. If your car has them, we'll tell you what's feasible at our workshop and what needs a specialist.
Insurance claims
For example: "We can quote for insurance repairs. Many policies let you choose your repairer, so check your product disclosure statement or ask your insurer."
How a repair job works
Mechanical and bodywork under one roof
If the impact has damaged a suspension arm, radiator, headlight or sensor, we repair all of it in the same place and don't send you between workshops. We also stock tyres, from budget to premium, in case a wheel or tyre was damaged.
FAQs
How much will my repair cost?
Every bodywork job is quote-on-inspection. Send photos from four angles plus close-ups of the damage, or drop in, and we'll lock in a number before any work begins.
How long will it take?
It depends on the damage and parts availability. We'll give you a time estimate with your quote. [Add typical timeframes if you want.]
Will the paint match?
We match from the paint code and blend into adjacent panels so the repair doesn't show in direct sun. Pearl and tri-coat colours take more work, and we'll tell you up front.
Can a dent be fixed without repainting?
Sometimes. If the paint is intact and the panel isn't creased or stretched, paintless dent repair may work. [Confirm you offer PDR.]
Do I have to go through insurance?
No, you can pay privately. If you're claiming, many policies let you choose your repairer, so check your product disclosure statement. [Owner to confirm insurance policy.]
Will my parking sensors and driver-assist features still work after a bumper repair?
We scan the car after the repair and check bumper-mounted sensors. [Confirm which calibrations you perform in-house.]
Do you repair cracked bumpers or replace them?
Repair where it's sound to do so, and replace where the damage is too extensive or the mounting points are broken.
Can I get a second opinion on another workshop's quote?
Yes, and it's free. See the section above.
Free second opinion on any quote
Quoted for a panel replacement or full respray when it might be a repair? Bring us the quote and tell us what they said was wrong. We'll tell you what's actually wrong, what's genuinely urgent, and what's been added in. No charge for the conversation, no pressure to book the work with us, and no upsells.
Text or email a photo of the quote to [PHONE / EMAIL], or bring it in. If we need to see the car to give you a straight answer, we'll say so. [Confirm whether that inspection is free.]
[Optional, real example only: one short story of a quote you reviewed where the fix turned out to be far smaller than quoted. Add the make, the quote, and what it actually was.]
