What a logbook service involves
Why independent logbook servicing works
- Access to manufacturer service information. Under Australia's Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Information Sharing Scheme, manufacturers must make service and repair information available to independent repairers. [Confirm the accuracy of this with the owner and mention the scheme only if it applies to your tools and subscriptions.]
- The same person who services your car can fix it. If we find worn brakes, tyres or a suspension fault during your service, you don't need to go anywhere else.
- You keep the paperwork that matters when you sell. A complete, dated service history is one of the first things buyers ask for, and it helps support your asking price.
Things worth knowing
- Digital logbooks. Many newer cars record service history digitally rather than in a paper book. Ask us how it's handled for your brand.
- Extended warranties. Some manufacturers offer 5, 7 or even 10-year warranties, and those can have their own servicing conditions. Check your terms before you decide where to service.
- Missed a service? We'll look at what's overdue and what's due now, and plan the catch-up with you.
Logbook servicing for different cars

- Japanese and Korean (Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru and others): short-interval services, diff and CVT fluids where scheduled
- Hybrids and EVs: brake, coolant and battery-system checks per the manufacturer's schedule

How the work is done

- To your manufacturer's specification and schedule, item by item

- With a conversation first: we talk to you before replacing anything that isn't on the schedule
- [Optional, confirm you do this: any parts we replace are kept aside so you can see them]

FAQs
Do I have to service my new car at the dealership to keep my warranty?
No. Under Australian Consumer Law, a manufacturer generally can't void your warranty only because an independent workshop did the servicing, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule, uses suitable parts and fluids, and is done by a qualified person.
What do I get at the end of a logbook service?
A stamped logbook or a digital service record, and an itemised invoice listing what was done and what we found.
Is a logbook service different from a minor or major service?
A logbook service is done to the manufacturer's schedule. Whether it counts as minor or major depends on where your car is in that schedule.
My car has a digital logbook. Can you still service it?
Yes. Many newer cars record service history digitally. Tell us the make and model and we'll confirm how the record is handled before you book.
I've lost my logbook. What now?
We can still service your car to the manufacturer's schedule and give you an itemised invoice for your records
I've missed a service. Is my warranty gone?
Not automatically. We'll check what's overdue and bring the car up to date. If you have an extended warranty, check its servicing conditions, because some have their own.
How much does a logbook service cost?
It depends on which stage of the schedule your car is at. Call us with your rego and odometer reading and we'll lock in a price before any work begins.
Do you do logbook services for European, hybrid and electric cars?
Yes. Tell us the make and model and we'll confirm what your schedule covers.
Free second opinion on any quote
Told by a dealer that a "recommended" item is overdue, or quoted a logbook service that seems high? Bring us the quote and tell us what they said was wrong. We'll tell you what's actually wrong, what's genuinely urgent, and what's been added in. No charge for the conversation, no pressure to book the work with us, and no upsells.
Text or email a photo of the quote to [PHONE / EMAIL], or bring it in. If we need to see the car to give you a straight answer, we'll say so. [Confirm whether that inspection is free.]
